Pastor Tim

Dr. Timothy Ysteboe began his second tour of service at Hillside in November 2006. He served as an instructor and administrator at the Lutheran Brethren Schools in Fergus Falls, MN in both seminary and Bible departments from 1994-2006. While at the Schools, he also pastored the United Community Parish of Doran, Campbell, and Tintah in western Minnesota. Prior to that, he pastored at Hillside (first tour) from 1985 to 1994. Pastor Ysteboe also served as the founding pastor of Word of Life LBC in Le Sueur, Minnesota.

Tim is married to Rachel (Erickson). They have two children Lisa (Battillo) and Matthew and five grandchildren.

Tim graduated from Minnesota State University in Moorhead with a B.A. in Communications, earned a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary and was awarded a Doctor of Ministry from Biblical Theological Seminary.

His interests include Sunday afternoon naps, coaching and playing sports and games (especially with the grandkids), visiting with friends and eating Bruce's cooking.

Pastor Bruce

Bruce E. Hillman, Jr. is Associate Pastor of Education and Small Groups at Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church in Succasunna NJ. He Holds a BA in History and Political Science from Quinnipiac University, (Hamden, CT), an MDiv. from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary (Fergus Falls, MN), and is currently working on his STM ( Master of Sacred Theology) in patristics from Drew University (Madison, NJ); his research involves Augustinian studies and early Christianity. He has served as Selectman to the City of Torrington, (CT) and is former pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Henning MN. Bruce lives in Succasunna, New Jersey, he enjoys cooking, reading, all things British, and conversations with good friends.

Chris Godshalk, Youth Director

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My name is Chris "Goddy" Godshalk. I am the Youth Director here at Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church. I was born and raised in Mt. Bethel, PA. I am a graduate of Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA where I received my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I am also a graduate of the Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, MN with a Certificate of Theological Studies in Youth Ministry. I have been in youth ministry since 2002, where I was a volunteer youth leader at Mount Bethel LBC until 2006. I have been a Full Time Youth Director for 2 years. My journey in the ministry has taken me all the way to the Ukraine and Italy to spread the "Good News" of Jesus Christ through Sports Ministry. My interests include sports, reading, and missions. I am excited to see how God is going to use me in the ministry here at Hillside to participate in the Kingdom Work.
